Cirrus 12 string for Alun Tan Lan
Alun is a great singer/songwriter from Wales. His songs are all sung in his own Welsh language and are very widely used by Welsh TV and radio. He must be pressured by many to write and perform in English as well, but I admire him for staying true to his roots even though his career might benefit by doing so. He uses a variety of stringed instruments to accompany himself and plays them all with an enviable assurance.
This is the third guitar I have made for him, the other two being a Stratus 12 and a Stratus 14.
For some reason most major guitar manufacturers always assume a 12 string has to be a big-bodied guitar. Alun was convinced that a small-bodied instrument would sound clearer and not suffer any lack of volume for being small. I totally agreed with him and so we went ahead.
The result was a very comfortable and relaxing to play 12 string which sounds every bit as loud as larger ones but with less "mush" as people who have heard it said!
